Growing up on our family’s ranch in Central-West Texas, my hunting addiction sprouted at an early age. As a teenager, I got the chance to do some guiding around Texas and watched as a hunter took a ranch-record aoudad during my first hunt. I was in awe. While attending Texas A&M, I took a summer internship at a large game ranch near Sommerville, Texas where I took care of many exotic animals including red sheep, markhor, and bongos. being in close contact with many of the world’s most unique animals, helped grow my fixation with exotics. After graduating from TAMU in 2006 with a degree in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences, I continued hunting every chance I got, while working various sales & advertising jobs. It took some time, but I finally found something that was “fulfilling”…and that was introducing people to the growing world of exotics & connecting hunters with their dream hunts. Building a network of hunters, ranches/outfitters, while watching the popularity of exotic hunting continue to grow has been nothing short of amazing!
Being the youngest and only daughter growing up on our family’s ranch, I tagged along as much as possible, mostly making too much noise. I knew I could never be the kind of hunter my brother was but my admiration for his passion and skills continues to inspire me. After studying at Texas A&M and earning a BA in Advertising from Texas Tech University, I have 10 years of Strategic Marketing, Branding and Graphic Design experience in various fields including many hunting operations. Today I am lucky enough to exercise my creative passions together with my brother’s love for exotic hunting as we continue to build this community and industry.
Between a 2,000 acre family-owned ranch outside of Bedias, Tx., a house in the woods near College Station, and a house in the Hill Country, I was blessed to be able to spend a large majority of my time as a child outdoors. The luxury of being able to walk outside on the back porch, line up for a 50 yard shot on a nice, free-roaming Axis is not something I take lightly. That time has passed and I moved on. I enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1997 and was in for a few years. When my time was up I transitioned to a career in digital marketing and web design. As is the case for many hunters, the hunt doesn’t come as often now but I thoroughly enjoy being able to connect hunters and hunt providers.
