Big Game Trophy MountsFORT WORTH – Zebras, cape buffalo and record-book deer will be among the many trophy mounts up for grabs at the World-Class Big Game Trophy Mount and Western Auction, October 14 and 15, 2011 at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Organized by broker and “Taxidermy King” John Brommel, the auction brings together several estates and private collections for display and liquidation at one of the world’s largest taxidermy auctions.

Held biannually in the spring and fall, “Taxidermy King” auctions regularly attract interior designers, restaurant owners and collectors searching for unique pieces.

“Each year, I conduct various auctions ranging from real estate to race horses and the Taxidermy King Sale is always the highlight,” says auctioneer Bruce McCarty. “Being able to auction one-of-a-kind pieces is very exciting.”

Throughout the year, Brommel travels coast-to-coast collecting prized mounts and decorative items for the auction. The October 14-15, 2011 event will feature animal mounts such as kudu, longhorn, buffalo, moose, bear, springbok antelope, black busk, impala, Corsican sheep and some of the largest deer ever seen. Heritage Game Mounts – Head of the “Class”

Heritage Game MountsInspired by her Grandfather’s vintage mount displays and an antique  hunting heirloom passed down for generations in her family, artist Rita Schimpff, of San Antonio, Texas, set out to create a unique way of preserving and displaying successful hunt mementos in a more elegant, refined way.  With her childhood inspiration and family sporting heritage behind her, Rita got to work.  She painstakingly carved the elaborate original mounts out of walnut…by hand. These beautifully hand-crafted works of art would become what today are known as Heritage Game Mounts.

Heritage Game Mount hunt accessories are designed for the hunter, taxidermist and designer.  As a taxidermy panel it offers an immediate alternative to the lead time, expense and space requirements of a shoulder mounted trophy.  For the interior designer, it allows an elegant sculptural accent for the clients home, office or ranch house. The Heritage Game Mount can accommodate any new, existing or vintage mount.
