Established in 1883, The Diamond TF Hunting Ranch is one of the oldest family owned ranches in Sutton county and southwest Texas.  This 1,970 acre, low-fenced ranch is located just minutes south of Sonora, Texas (pop. 3037) and has been game managed since 1980.  The habitat consisting of live oaks, cedar, mesquite, thick draws and planted fields make the ranch ideal for large whitetail and turkey populations.  There are over 200 acres of planted fields and food plots throughout the ranch, with 100 acres being irrigated.

A large, free-ranging herd of axis deer also call the ranch home and are available to hunt year ’round.  Free-range axis hunts are a one of a kind experience!  This is not a high-fence hunt, and our axis typically do not frequent feeders like whitetails might.  They prefer to feed in the large, planted fields in the mornings and evenings, bedding in thicker cover during mid-day.  Their behavior patterns allow for blind/tripod set-ups early and late; spotting and stalking during the time between hunts.  A very thrilling hunt to say the least!  2011 marks the first year that axis hunts on the Diamond TF are available to the hunting public and will be offered on a limited basis, so book your hunt today!

We can accommodate all types of hunters including rifle and bow hunters with comfortable, spacious blinds & portable tripods overlooking fields, travel routes and/or game feeders.

Hunt Pricing

Whitetails —-> $1,250   -   8 pt w/ 16″ inside spread  (+ $100 for each pt. over 8 & inch over 16)

ex.  12 pt w/ 18″ spread, scoring 156 = $1,850!

Axis Deer —-> $1,500   -   up to 28″ main beams  (+ $100 per inch over 28″)

ex.  Gold Medal Axis w/ 32″ beams is only $1,900!

All hunts are 3 days/2 nights with a hunt fee of $500 that is included in the price of any harvested animal.  Hunts are semi-guided.  Lodging is NOT provided, but several hotel/motel options are available in Sonora just 5 miles from the ranch.
